Creation of the visual identity for PagBank's new
payment machine called Moderninha X

Preliminary Research

Before starting the co-creation process, we conducted a preliminary research to gain a deeper understanding of the current context of payment machines. The steps were:

- Market Research: Analysis of trends and innovations in payment machines, both national and international;

- Physical Benchmarking: Evaluation of devices and communication materials from national players, such as machines, cash registers, and manuals; 

- User Analysis: Collection of user feedback on their experiences with payment machines (Moderninha Pro e Minizinha Chip);

- Conversations with suppliers to better understand printing processes and materials.


Co-Creation

We conducted 2 days of co-creation with designers from various teams at PagBank.


 

Brand Guidelines
- Colors of the new PagBank brand;

- The chosen typography was Gotham due to its versatility, wide range of options within the family, and a history of credibility in its perception;

- Consider modernity, movement, and lightness in the new PagBank brand.

Final Result
- A clearer concept to avoid visual clutter, which is common in retail. Use of bold colors that represent the new brand;

- The informational hierarchy was rethought to avoid excesses on the outside of the box, prioritizing the most relevant information for users;

- In the folder, the main activation and usage flows of the machine were presented in a more visual and direct manner, as  the research showed that users tend to resist using lengthy and complex manuals.
